Bush Changes Tune nothing Else....

The news out today on Iraq is the following:
President Bush, facing a growing Republican revolt against his Iraq policy, has rejected calls to change course but will launch a campaign emphasizing his intent to draw down U.S. forces next year and move toward a more limited mission if security conditions improve, senior officials said yesterday.
In other words, nothing is going to change until at least next Spring. The violence will not go down in the way they want/hope. It can not. Calling for draw down after the security situation improves is like a C student saying he will change his study habits after he gets straight As. Except that you aren't going to get straight As without changing the habits.

The draw down will increase violence within Iraq. There is no way to stop this in my mind. What could be stopped (I hope/think) is it turning into a regional war.

All that is going to change is his language. In other words, nothing strategically, practically, and substantially.
