Worrisome Sign Turkey/Kurds

Thousands of Turkish troops backed by helicopters carried out operations against Kurdish guerrillas in southeast Turkey over the weekend. Ten members of the Turkish security forces and seven rebels died in the fighting. Military officials said three soldiers were killed, while nine others were wounded on Sunday alone in the violence across the provinces of Tunceli, Bingol, Bitlis and Sirnak, near the Iraqi border.
