Brooks points out that under Clinton we did basically nothing on terrorism, and that didn't work.
Under Bush we've gone to Iraq, and that hasn't worked.

So the question of 2008 will be what is the future (he calls it the 3rd way) on terrorism. The 2008 will be the future of that debate.

And Newt is positioning himself perfectly, against Bush (too weak on Iran) and against the liberals (too liberal) on everything. I alone can fight this WWIII.

His street-cred with the Republicans is off-the-charts.
